Gaven Morris is Managing Director of Bastion Transform, a content strategy and digital transformation consultancy, part of the Bastion Group, Australasia's largest independent creative and content agency.

Until December 2021, Gaven was the Director of News, Analysis and Investigations at the ABC and led a team of 1300 of Australia's most trusted journalists, content makers and broadcasters. He initiated and drove a digital transformation of ABC News which resulted in it becoming Australia’s leading online and social media news service during a time of reduced funding, editorial and political controversy, and through a tumultuous time in global and national events. He was previously the Executive Head of News Content responsible for all daily news output and for the launch of the ABC News Channel.

Gaven spent a decade in international news, firstly as a producer, correspondent and senior editor at CNN based in London and travelling extensively on assignments globally, and then as a senior member of the team that built and launched Al Jazeera English, the largest news channel and digital start-up in world journalism. 

He’s covered many significant breaking news events from the Iraq War and the second Intifada in the Middle East, to conflict in Africa, terrorist attacks and natural disasters across Europe and the Middle East, political assassinations and upheaval in Lebanon and national elections, U.S. Presidential visits and global summits.
