With over 35 years of experience in the AFL industry both as a player and coach, Gavin has extensive experience in an elite sporting environment. Currently, he is the director of TeamFirst a leadership development consultancy business.

Throughout his career, Gavin has demonstrated a consistent ability to lead and drive standards and direction amongst athletes. In his most recent role as head of development he was responsible for the implementation and management of the academy program for new inductees. Gavin is renowned for his empathy and self-awareness, embodying values-based strengths that complement his pragmatic approach. One of his great strengths is his ability to apply logic and common sense to his analytical problem-solving and decision-making processes makes him a highly effective and thoughtful professional.

Gavin thrives in collaborative and inclusive environments and has the ability to build strong relationships. He is known for his selfless attitude and teamwork abilities. He is committed to
continuous learning and professional development. In his spare time, Gavin enjoys the outdoors, four-wheel driving, camping, boating and fishing. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys watching and attending a variety of sporting events.
