Jim Clayton spent the first three years of his career practising law in the US before joining McKinsey & Company in the US, Germany, and Singapore where he advised large corporates on strategy.

Prior to becoming the chief executive of Breville Group in June 2015, Mr Clayton held a number of senior roles at LG Electronics including as executive vice president of new business division within its home entertainment company. He also spent 10 years at Symphony Technology Group where he sourced investment opportunities, executed acquisitions, led company transformation programs, and was chief executive for a Symphony portfolio company.
